Biography

Janet Rojina was born and raised in a little town in southern Oregon. She has two supportive sisters and is the daughter of two loving immigrants from Mexico. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University where she double majored in Biology and Public Health. Guided by her passion to improve community health, especially among vulnerable populations, she has been working with the Modoc County Public Health Department (MCPHD) for the past two and a half years. One of her favorite roles at the MCPHD has been helping some of the county’s most rural and isolated communities incorporate the promotor model. Janet is currently an MPH candidate at the Yale School of Public Health in the Department of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences. Her greatest aspiration is to serve, empower, and help heal communities.
