Biography

Marianela Morán, an experienced freelance translator with over 40 years of experience, brings her extensive expertise to the field of accessibility and inclusion. For over 15 years, she has collaborated as a consultant with the American Printing House (APH) for the Blind, playing a key role in translating essential documents into Spanish and expanding accessibility within the visually impaired community. Additionally, as the instructional design coordinator for UF Lastinger Center for Learning, she oversees the translation of educational materials into Spanish and Haitian Creole, advocating for equitable access to education in diverse communities. Marianela holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from New York University and a Master’s degree in Spanish Education from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca in Spain. She was also a speaker at the 2022 Visión y Compromiso Conference with her colleague Pris Rogers.
