Caring from the Heart: Family, Friends and Neighbors as Child-Care Providers
This workshop is full of useful tools for promotores who provide care to children ages 0-5 and of particular importance for promotores who provide care without a license (exempt providers). This workshop demonstrates how Visión y Compromiso has become involved in the mission to prepare exempt promotores in an effective manner.
In this workshop, we will explore various important aspects of child care and the importance of provider self-care in order to offer quality care. We will present and practice culturally meaningful educational activities to prepare children for Kindergarten. Given that emergencies happen unexpectedly, we will review disaster preparedness measures and how to be better prepared in case of a medical emergency or natural disaster with the children under our care.
