Centering Youth Voices: Youth Promotores as Agents of Change (English Session)*
When youth are given access to the decision making table, watch out! Come join us as we share the journey of how youth Promotores in Kern County are creating health equity and transforming their communities. We will hear from a youth group on their experience taking the community transformation model and turning it into real-life actions that have led to community action projects and designing their own community assessment tools to present real solutions to their local city council representatives. This session will focus on the intersections of youth voices and advocacy to build youth civic engagement with a panel of youth sharing best practices!
Objectives
- Identify two best practices for organizing with youth.
- Understand the unique power and impact of organizing with youth.
- Identify one youth led project, organization, or group that you are going to connect with.
