Pesticides and Healthy Pregnancies
Promotores will learn why women farmworkers are more likely to be exposed to pesticides, even if they are not the ones applying them directly. They will also learn why, as women, farmworkers are more vulnerable to pesticides, especially before, during, and after pregnancy (when breastfeeding), when pesticides can harm not only them, but their babies as well. Finally, they will know what are the benefits of State Disability Insurance for rural women who plan to become pregnant, are pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Objetivos
- Learn why it is important for women farmworkers to reduce their exposure to pesticides.
- Name at least three actions that women farmworkers can take to reduce their exposure to pesticides.
- Name at least two legal rights of women farmworkers who plan to become pregnant, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
