Your Story Counts: A Strong Model of Collaboration Between Academics and Promotores
During this workshop, Dr. Fejerman will share her experience working with community representatives and advocates to develop a program for the education and prevention of hereditary breast cancer among Latina women. The presentation will include a description of how the materials were developed and how the promotor training and outreach was implemented. The presentation will highlight the experience and perspective of the promotores regarding the difficulties and benefits of virtual outreach, and the process of consistently involving promoters in the implementation process.
