Biography
Alejandro Espinoza is a dedicated professional at the forefront of community health education and engagement. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Alejandro is making a significant impact in his roles as Chief of Community Engagement at the Desert Healthcare District/Foundation and as a faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, where he imparts his knowledge of Community Health Education to the next generation of leaders.
Previously, Alejandro served as the Program Director of Chronic Diseases and Special Projects at Latino Health Access (LHA) in Santa Ana, CA. During his tenure at LHA, he worked in close collaboration with community-based organizations across the nation, playing a key role in designing and implementing programs and services that utilized the community health worker (Promotora) model. His commitment to improving community health has led him to collaborate with academic institutions, public and private organizations, community-based groups, and governmental agencies.
Alejandro’s passion for community-based participatory research, health and wellness programs, and the empowerment of underserved communities is evident in his service on multiple committees and his involvement on various governing boards. His valuable expertise and dedication make him an indispensable resource for driving positive change in health and wellness.
