Biography

Since June 2021, Lourdes Barajas has been an integral member of Cedars Sinai Cancer Research Center for Health Equity Community Outreach and Engagement. Initially serving as lead community health associate for the Latinx community, she now holds the position of program administrator. Lourdes oversees all community outreach and engagement efforts and partnerships for the LGBTQ+, Filipino, African American, Antelope Valley, and Latinx communities, guiding a team of six colleagues in strategic planning and implementation. Notable achievements include establishing the Community Advisory Board, leading the Clinical Trial Campaign with the ArtCenter, and managing Community Outreach and Engagement’s Community Grants. With over 10 years of experience in outreach and engagement, she is adept at creating education curriculums, fostering partnerships, and coordinating initiatives for underserved communities. She holds a BS in Sociology/Psychology and an MBA with a concentration in Leadership from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and is currently pursuing a certification in human resources management from UCLA extension.
